Crack Cocaine + CTR 5'ers = Suicide Mission

Church yesterday was a riot! No seriously...it was a full on violent riot. We had 9 of our 5 year olds show up and they were all on what appeared to be the "Crack Cocaine". After we got them all tied down situated in their little chairs, we proceeded to bribe them with memorizing these two phrases:

  1. Always remember Jesus Christ
  2. Obey His commandments

with...you got it! More Crack Cocaine aka candy.

Afterwards, we went home and changed and headed out to the beach, but not before tossing together some sandwiches and everybody's favorite Fall Snack Mix:

Yep! It's the Oblad favorite pasttime of putting one bag of candy corns with a jar of peanuts. I usually don't like candy corn, or any of those candy corn flavored items you see in the fall (pumpkins etc.) but when they're mixed in with some salty peanuts, you just don't get much better than that! Now the argument we have quite often amongst Oblad siblings/parents is what ratio of peanuts to candy corn you put in your mouth for maximum flavor happy! So after hours and hours of intense trials, I've come to believe that one candy corn with 2 peanuts is best. Try it yourself! Ps, if you don't like Payday bars, don't try this one at home. It tastes just like a Payday!

One more thing, I have to tell you. My husband brought me flowers for our anniversary, and I made him big fat honkin' peanut butter cookies. Muy...muy delicioso. I love that man o'mine!

Now enjoy some pictures why dontcha?!? (notice the pictures are mainly of Jonah and Harper...and one of Casey? Well, the girls decided they were going to go walk around to look beach cruiser bikes. I think they should have just said "To look at boys"...what do you think?)

Cute ghosts but I see lines on every page after I leave yours. Makes my eyes go crazah!

UMMMM...ash and I think it is 1 corn to 1.5 peanuts. I would think that you of all people would feel bad for the half peanuts and pair them with a full. OR easier and much funner, just double up... 2 corns to 3 peanuts.

Why do you see lines after you leave mine?

Oh and I'm not much of a "ca'corn" fan, so I dilute them with peanuts, or better yet, almonds or cashews. Now that, my friend is delicious.

Cause your white text is on the black and then when I come on here to comment I see lines.

Weird, does Kjersten's do that to you too?

Eliza said...

yes but not as bad as the purple on black of hers use to.

I likes it dark and spooky!

I love the page!! It's so freakin' cute! I need to find another site for cut Halloween stuff. I luff it to the death. And I think that my favorite of those pics is with Harper and the cute little dog.

i agree with liza about the candy combo. i almost bought some candy corn and peanuts, but i know i would eat the whole bowl by myself.
i love your ghosts by the way, and i see the lines to liza!

Dani - we like Newport. It's so clean!

Lyd - thanks! Oh and Harper could NOT keep himself away from that dog, it was so cute.

Mandy - Liza said it's just because of the light writing on dark. I was just trying to do something different. I'll look for something else for you girls.

hahahahah Tiff!!! You are too cute. We went from talking about candy ratios to seeing lines to changing profiles to SHOUTS of how Tiff wants cookies! Oh, I love it.

P.S. I went to Smith's on Saturday night, came home of course with some candy corn and peanuts, made it that night and by the time Monday came around I had already eaten TWO BAGS of candy corn and a big container of peanuts...holy crap Batman!!! talk about scarfing the face...oh and I added some M&M's for fun and VOILA!!! BABY RUTH!

Alli Easley said...

omg baby ruth. I hadn't thought of that. Michael already love you Ash, and now you just might surpass even me on his Cool Favorite People list. He loooooooooves Baby Ruth.

Eliza said...

Yeah I was telling ash that Wal-mart sells it already made that way. Candy Corns, Peanuts, and M&M's (but they are the chocolate buttons or whatever they call the generics). The real thing is better I'm sure, right Ash?

Alli you know we are related to Buddy, so how do you not like Candy Corns as one of your food groups?

Alli Easley said...

I do not know. I think one time they tasted like honey to me, and since then...I'm over them. Unless they have nuts, that is.

Eliza said...

ah...kind to the eyes.

I am not an Oblad when it comes to this treat. I hate, I'm sorry that was a strong word (but not strong enough) I would rather cut off my own foot and use it to save Hillary Clinton who has slipped and fallen off a cliff, luckily (not for me) she was able to grasp onto some overhanging vines. She doesn't have the strength to pull her self up and my arms are not long enough to reach her so I must use my leg which I cut off using only paper from a 1985 World Book encyclopedia. Each paper slicing 2 mm's at a time until my leg is fially off....Where was I? Ahh yes I don't like candy corns, especially the large pumpkin candy corns. Whose idea was it in the first place to make a candy CORN? Hey,have you tried the new fall treat "candy intestine"? Mmmmm, it's not as good as the candy colon. Ahh yes my wife and I always love to sit next to a low glowing fire while the kids are asleep, listening to some low humming Kenny G (not his new stuff but the old classics), and eat some candy colon. I love the fall

you know what you are getting in the mail........ I am going to meld 2 bags of candy pumpkins together to make one giant one for you. (can I use meld in this situation?)

Alli Easley said...

I hope you're sending this treat to Taylor, as I'd most likely vom on sight of said melded c'corns.
