So Awesome

So I'm downstairs rebooting my Vonage device so I can have phone again (grrr...stupid internet keeps flaking out. I hate Time Warner Cable) and as I sit down on the computer, my Mom calls to tell me that the new counselor has been called. I'm so excited. Although our sweet sweet prophet passed last week, the new presidency is so awesome! If you haven't heard, it goes like this:

Monson has been officially ordained as the new prophet. I love him. I love his stories, I love his easy way about him, and I'm absolutely positive he's a true prophet. I'm getting goosebumps just writing about it. When I was struggling in my life, questioning my purpose on this earth, President Monson's talks and ever tender acceptance to sinners like myself made my return so easy. What an amazing man.

Then as First Counselor, we have Eyring! He's so different than we're used to. I'm so glad he's there, and the way he speaks is so unique...and in a good way! He's an amazing man, and what an incredible last few months he's had.

And then the most exciting part. Uchtdorf! He's only 67 years old, and only been an apostle for 4 years, and now he's the 2nd Counselor! Here's the Wikipedia bio on him. He's so handsome, and when he would speak to us in his rad German accent at conference, I'd slightly crush on him, him being a Lufthansa pilot and all. This is so awesome.

Anyway, I wanted to post about it before I went to lay down. I have been really really sick since last Friday. Saturday morning at about 2 am I finally hit my fever peak and Mike tried everything to get it to break, and finally about 5 that morning, we got it to go below 103. I'm still trying to rest, and my poor family is eating crap for every meal, but hey, they're not complaining. I'm so grateful to have such helpful kids, and my husband who I couldn't live without. He's so gentle and generous. He's rad. Also, I have such awesome friends like Aimee and Amanda and my sisters Mandy and Eliza, who have called to keep tabs on me. I'm so blessed. Seriously.

So leave comments, tell me what you think about the new counselor! What an exciting day!

I was gonna call you but I didn't want to wake you if you were sleeping. So exciting. Curtis and I were just commenting during the Funeral at how young Uchtdorf looks for his 67 years. The press conference today when they walked out was great. (Although stupid Carol Mikita told us that she saw his wife and assumed it was him before it started. I wanted to see him walk out when I found out it was Uchtdorf.) His remarks were fantastic. AND Erying... so cute. AND President Monson's favorite color is yellow and his explaination makes me want to change mine to yellow. I'll find the link so you can read it yourself.

It's perfect. I've loved Uchtdorf since he was called to the twelve, but while we were in Germany my love grew more. He always talked about Germany and so I felt like I could "relate" even though our stay was short. Three amazing men as the First Presidency. Love them all!

I hope you feel better soon--you'll be in my prayers! :)

Great minds think alike! I was totally thinking today how much I LOVE Monson's stories. I look forward to them every conference.
Eyring, I love when he gets emotional! His cute little finger point on the pulpit! Awww.
I too have a secret crush on Uchtdorf!!! I just told Kev today that I think he is so handsome! We are funny girls.
I think these men will be amazing. I felt it before the press conference began.
BTW, I am so sad you have been sick. I have wanted to call a bazillion times, but I have been too afraid! Wha? Anyway, now I feel like a jerk! I hope you feel better!!! I will call Wed-nes-day. I am going to be crazy tomorrow. Good thing because I don't want to be glued to the TV watching Super Tuesday! Stress.

No, how true it is about Uchtdorf!! My Teachings of the Living Prophets teacher, the one that's a 70, said that all the women in his office would always talk about how handsome he is. It's so true! He is!!

Can I say that this has been like the most amazing Monday ever!! I got to sleep in (but not as long as I wanted because of my stupid housing management,) I heard about the new presidency (which is amazing!,) I just watched a video in my first class, my HW for my class tomorrow got "canceled", I got to have FHE with BYU-I's president, President Clark (who also is a 70), then when I went to the store I saw a some of my guy friends, oh, and I looked cute! hehe What a great day! ;)

I'm with you on the Handsomeness. The ladies at work didn't believe curtis when he told them he was 67. They thought he was younger. They all think he is handsome too.
