If you're a Clue addict like us Oblad family people, you know that the title of this post is about Clue, the movie. We put it on Sunday night, and the kids and Mike and I all watched it with brownies and it gave me an idea for FHE the next day. It's about time we did one without a big ol' lesson, although I admit, the lessons lately have been really good...the kids each have done their own lessons the last month and a half. That gives us mom and dad a break, plus it gives them good practice for when they get called into Primary to teach crazy 4-5 year olds (like Mike and I do...)
Anyway, so I woke up Monday morning, went to the scrapbook store to grab some ribbon and vellum for the invites, and then I came home and made this up: (click on it to read it)
Then I distributed the invites to the kids, who were very excited, and started cooking. I made a big old lasagne, some salad of course, french bread courtesy of Albertson's and we drank sparkling apple cider and ginger ale out of plastic champagne flutes...how classy!
Casey was dying to get it started!
Kenzie helped me take the flowers off the table when it was time to eat
Jonah was feeling tipsy I think
Before we played Clue all night long, we had a summer fruit and cream cheese tart and it was most delicious!
Then...we had a Clue tournament, and I have to tell you...we are LOVING having big kids. These are the best days of my life...
Now Kenzie wants to do this for her birthday party which is in about 3 weeks. At least she's not asking for us to take them all to Disneyland, I figure. As long as she's happy!!!
It was a fun night!

I LOVE LOVE that scrapbook paper!! I need some of that. What a GREAT idea! I have to admit that I have never played Clue. I hope you'll still claim me your friend. Kenzie is so beautiful too! That must be a nice time in your life having the kids at such a fun age. I also really really like your red plates. Sounds like so much fun! Next time I want to come though :)
"I hated her...so...much, itit...the fff it...flame, flames...flames...on the side of my face, breathing, breathle...heaving breaths...heaving..."
Tiff - come visit! We'll party down old school style.
Tay - hahhaaaaaaaaa, that's our favorite part. I seriously think that's the oldest line from a movie I have in my repertoire
YOur new look is going to make my head implode..."Too many hidden Mickey's...must not die", said Taylor as he crawls slowly toward the anectdote.
YOU SHUSH! It's under construction! See? I changed it...much better...
...now now Taylor, no dying a day before vacation...
ps, wanna come eat at our house on your way to Vegarse?
You are the Mom of the Year! What a fabulous night you set up for your kids. It all starts with the mother...
Cute new page!
Thanks Stacey, I'm like cheese, I get better and oranger with age, I figure.
Tiffany - Thanks, I like changing my header etc all the day, so I opt for editing the html on my blog rather than creating a .jpg header in photoshop, ya know? I'm fickle like that...kind of how I re-arrange my bedroom furniture about once a month.
i like your table cloth. AND Curtis says that line all the day. I also like her singing...she's the baste!
Yes the kids always rewind that singing "For She's A Jolly Good Fellow" part. We're going to watch High Anxiety and What's Up Doc tonight because we lurves Madeline Kahn (especially in the Cosby Show)
Oh and the table cloth? Fab-reek store! $3.99 a yard, I sewed it meself, not that it's so hard, but you know...I likes to save the moneys.
ok i want your new page. you need to make mine look cute too. im dumb with the computadora!!!
K when you get back, we'll let the boys bbq in your backyard and you and I will make a new blog for you!
PS, it's so hot here today!
cant be any hotter than vegas. i swear im in hades here!
I'm sure you're right, but the dirty nasty air I saw a little while ago when I drove into Rancho Cucamonga made me feel like I was living in hades. Bleh, I can't wait for scarf weather! When do you guys come back?
So what's wrong with making a banner in photoshop? Huh? Are you an HTML snob or I am a photoshop snob? Hmm.
This looks like a fun FHE. Will have to remember it when my kids are older.
Actually, I am a Photoshop fan, as Mike actually makes a living because of it, but I am teaching myself how to hand code html (don't ask me why, I have no idea...) so HTML it is!
Ps, you're getting some really awesome digi-scrappin skillz yo.
That. Is fantastic.
It was fun...now the bar has been raised, though. What shall I do next week?
Oh, so sad I missed it! I LOVE LOVE LOVEY that movie! Spencer has asked a billion times to play the game, but he really just wants to play with the weapons.
Also, I LOVE Ms. Madeline! THE BEST!
Sha boom sha boom ....
Oh my gosh, what an awesome idea! Look at you...you rock! Also, your house looks adorable!
Sad that I haven't tried the photoshop way yet since mine is crapped out. I've had to teach myself the HTML way. It's not so scary.
You're so creative! Love the pics!!
this family just gets cooler and cooler
I love it!!! I need to do this with my roommies! And we will dress up. We did this like 2 years ago, but we didn't have dinner. I love it. This famerly is the best ever!!!!
WE NEED TO HAVE A FAMILY PARTY POST HASTE! Get on it Lyd, plan this thing out!
What would you have me do!? :) hehe
p.s. Alli, "Lizzie" Calder wants to have a family reunion for dah Oblads! It was her idea. Cute huh? Let's dooo eet!
Lyd, you tell your mom that we're coming to stay at her house, then I'll do the rest. I'm to skrrrd to aks.
Ash - CUTE! See, someone cares. OH and I have dreamed 2 times in the last week that we moved into G'pa and G'ma's house to fix it up while we lived there.
Oh, she won't give a crap! This house has been a hotel this whole year. There's plenty of room for all! Come on up! When would you plan on comin'?!
See, that's what I'm afraid of...everyone stays there and I don't want to just be like "hey! Everybody's doin it!"
We'd like to come up in September/October some time, when it's fall, so I can take pictures with Liza's kids, and hopefully Kissy's kids for my portfolio in the fall leaves etc... I need to call your mom I think.
No, what ever. I'm sure that the visits will be slowing down because it's not summer. And plus I won't be here, so that guarantees another bed, unless I come down to see you guys! But really, I don't think that she would care. Why would she anyway!?
